And Going To Brazil

My April blog teaser is over and I have a winner for another pin keeper! M. Regina! Congratulations!
The pin keeper that I made for this months prize is an under the sea one. I am in anticipating summer. Of course in my opinion summer is one of the best seasons! Also I am trying to keep focused on my CQ "Seanes". I am only three blocks away from putting it together! I am now starting to get excited!
I hope that M. Regina enjoys this pin keep!

I Keep Telling You It Is The Tree!!

I had been running behind on some blog prizes. For the past two weeks I had been working fifty hours a week and over. I had been stitching as fast as I could but time just seems to slip away! The good news is I am finished with them all! WHOO-HOO!!!

Okay this top one is for the "Catch My Star" blog teaser. It goes to a wonderful Crazy Quilter who won the big prize! I thought since the last pin keeper that I made for her was dramatic, I thought that glitz was on the order for this one! I am hoping that it is truly over the top glitzy for her!!

Here is the back. Don't y'all just love the 50's evening gown fabric?? I do too!!This next one is a big surprise for a really great lady. The hint is she has fallen and hurt herself and I am hoping that when she gets this that all the hurt fades a bit! I looked at the likes and dislikes chart and chose the colors that she had listed.

On the front I know that the piece of velvet is a little too small to appreciate the fabric so I took a picture of the back. I was in one of my favorite thrift stores when I found this one.(For those of y'all who don't know, I get the vast majority of my fabric from thrift stores. Besides making these pin keepers from old CD's it is the best way of going green!) I did not know at the time that I got this fabric that I would be doing this pin keeper. The fabric just spoke to me!

Now, here is the last pin keeper! Like I said above all, it was the tree for the delay! When this pin keeper said TREE I had to put one on it! So here it is in all of its glory! I am happy that I did it though. It just makes the pin keeper! I hope that the person who receives it likes it!

It is now on to other projects! I have a CQ meeting to get ready for.

Red And Black

On my other blog Quilting Lion I am holding monthly "teasers" for my next project. The crazy quilt will be called "Catch My Star". I found some old cigarette silks that have early actresses printed on them. I had a bonus question that featured a song in a movie. Shari in Co was the first to get that question right as I think that she is some what (wink, wink) a really big Ricky Nelson fan. For answering that question right I had made a pin keeper. Here is the pin keeper I made. It features red and black silk.

It turned out very dramatic! I thought that the colors would remind myself/everyone of that by gone era even before "talkies" were out!

Rebecca's Gift

I am now proud to "show off" the latest in my pin keeper creations! I made this pin keep for a special person. Rebecca, is a wonderful person who is full of knowledge and generosity. She has helped out all of her friends in their time of need.

She volunteered to teach a stitch at The Lost Pines Crazy Quilt Group. By the way she does excellent bullion knots! So as a teacher gift I gave her a pin keeper!
She was so excited! I hope that she will enjoy it for a long time!

A One Week Project

For the last week I have been kinda quiet. That is because of family demands I had to rush to make pin keepers for a charity event. My sewing group that meets here on the second Saturday was having their annual charity drive. Since there were people there that were quilters I thought that I would make an enticing array of CD Pin Keepers.

And here they are:

They all went into a silent auction. All of course sold. I was happy that they did. I am hopeing that their new owners will be very happy with them. As y'all can see, I had been playing a little with the rainbow gallery products that I had collect at that one dollar sale. I am very happy with the way that they turned out. I think that the "highlighting" with the golds on the SRE turned out really well.
We raised over 700 dollars for The Food Pantry. With these hard times upon us The Food Pantry will need all the help they can get!
Well on to the next project. I am making needle cases that will be posted on The Quilting Lion.
